Weekly Beauty Tip # 29: A new way to store eyeshadow

If you have many individual eyeshadows and you are running out of ways to store them try this. Put loose shadows into a pill case. You can also crush pressed eyeshadows to make them into loose eyeshadows. Not only does this help free up space wherever you store your makeup, it also creates your own unique palette.

Review: Lush Shower Jelly

One day I went to the mall with a friend and discovered this amazing store called Lush. We didn't have much time that day but we looked around and had sales associate show us different products. On our way out we took one of the free catalogs that are always outside of the store. From there, the addiction started.

I looked through the catalog frequently and frequently browsed their website, without even trying anything I fell in love with Lush. This love grew even more when I went back and actually got to buy something. The first ever product I tried from Lush was their Shower Jelly.

Lush's Shower Jelly is unlike anything I have ever seen. It is a soap that is like jello. I got it in Whoosh which smells AMAZING!

This is the lid of the little pot of the Shower Jelly. The little pot that I got may not seem like much, but a little bit of this goes a very long way. I take my Shower Jelly out of the pot and cut it up into little pieces to make it last longer. They really lather up.

I store my Shower Jelly in the fridge. You don't have to, but when I bought my first Shower Jelly (on a very cold snowy day) by the time I got home it had melted. You don't want your Shower Jelly to melt, I recommend keeping it in the fridge.

If you are going to buy anything from Lush, especially as a first timer  I recommend this. It is a product that really showcases what Lush is about, fun natural and unique products. You will also get a lot for your money with this product. The Shower Jellies smell amazing, they are fun and any time I use them my skin feels moisturized and great.

If you have a Lush near you, I urge that you go there. You can go into the store and try most products out in store and you may even be able to take home some samples from the store. My local Lush is great with samples.

I will have a haul post of the Lush products that I've gotten from my past 2 visits and I will be reviewing some more Lush products. (I have such a long list of products to review) so keep an eye out!

Weekly Beauty Tip #28: A new way to store your lipstick

Try storing your lipstick and even lip gloss in pill cases! Just dig all of the product out of the packaging and place it in a pill case. You can even melt the lipstick to get it to fit in the pill case better. Many pros store their lipsticks this way, especially when they mix two colors together for a new shade.

Weekly Beauty Tip #27: Set foundation with translucent powder

If you find your foundation is rubbing off or your liquid foundation is looking shiny, set it with a translucent powder. Most women will set their liquid foundation or concealer with a powder foundation which can look cakey. Translucent powder is a sheer powder which will not add any color and if you use the right one it should blend into your skin and not look cakey.

I have mentioned using a translucent powder in a previous tip post, but I feel translucent powder deserves its own post. Many women have never heard of translucent powder and truthfully, I never had until I went to cosmetology school. Translucent powder can make a huge difference in your makeup. I use a liquid foundation and I will always set it with a translucent powder.

For a high end translucent powder I recommend using Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish powder.

MAKE UP FOR EVER - HD Microfinish Powder

For a cheaper alternative (which great quality) I recommend using E.L.F High Definition Powder. E.L.F's version is basically a dupe of the Make Up For Ever product. I personally use this all the time.

One last product I would like to point out that I have heard some really great things about is Laura Mercier's Invisible Loose Setting Powder.

Holiday haul!

Here is my very delayed next haul post! This is all of the makeup that I got for Christmas. There are also some mini reviews in here.

I got the first Urban Decay Naked Palette as I mentioned in a previous post. It came with a mini primer potion. This is what the gorgeous palette looks like:

I will eventually write a review on both Naked Palettes, so keep an eye out for that!

The next thing I got is this E.L.F palette:

I really like this palette. It is pretty compact and you can fold out the drawer, it's really good for if you're in a rush and you need some makeup all in one place. The pigmentation in this was better than I expected, but I haven't had too much of a chance to play around with this yet so I can't completely comment on pigmentation. I would recommend getting this if you want some sort of compact kit to keep in your car, in a bag or in a drawer.

The next palettes I got were the E.L.F Glitter Eye Palette and the E.L.F Natural Eye Palette.

I am putting these two palettes together because they are similar, just with different colors. I haven't had much of a chance to use the Natural Eye Palette, but I have used the Glitter Eye Palette. The Glitter Eye Palette really disappointed me. It is not very pigmented. If there was more pigmentation it would be a great palette. I love E.L.F, but sadly this is the case with some of their palettes. A while back I bought the big limited edition Studio Spring Palette on clearance. I was really glad I didn't pay full price because the colors weren't pigmented at all. I wish E.L.F would step up their game and make more pigmented palettes.

Here is my next palette, E.L.F Sinister Smoky Eyes

This palette is from a series of Limited Edition Disney villain palettes that were released around Halloween exclusively at Walgreens. I had wanted to get one but sadly I could not get to a Walgreens. I was ecstatic when my best friend got me this palette for Christmas. I haven't used many of the shadows yet, but so far I love everything about this. It is a beautiful palette. I love the design and I really love the eyelashes it comes with. I have seen other bloggers complain about the pigmentation of this palette. So far I have only used the two colors that you see in the top left corner, and I didn't have any problems with them.

Last but not least, this set of E.L.F eyeliners:

I am so glad I could finally do this post, I have had it planned out for some time now. I was going to have one giant post of everything I got from people and of the things I bought after Christmas, but I'm going to break it up. There will definitely be some more haul posts coming up! I am in the process of taking pictures for them so stay tuned!

Weekly Beauty Tip #26: Cheap exfoliator

If you have lips that need exfoliating and you don't want to buy a special scrub, try using a mascara wand or a very soft toothbrush with lip balm.

I won an Urban Decay contest!

The title of this post says it all, I won an Urban Decay contest! Urban Decay's twitter ( https://twitter.com/UrbanDecay411 ) had a contest just before Christmas and I won it. I have always loved Urban Decay and now after receiving more of their products and dealing with their awesome customer service, I love them so much more.

This is my first of (surprise!) a few haul posts I've had planned. I'm not reviewing anything in this post, the reviews will come later.

For this contest I was able to pick 5 products of my choice. So I chose the Naked 2 palette ( I already had the Naked palette, but that's for another post), primer potion in Eden, 24/7 liner in Perversion (I had been dying to get this nearly as much as the naked palettes), the brow box in Brown Sugar, and naked skin foundation in .5.

As you can see the people at Urban Decay sent me a very nice note with everything and they sent me everything very fast.

Here are some closeups of the product. Just a heads up since I have good pictures of them already, I will probably use these same pictures when I post reviews of these products.

So there's my first haul post! I have been wanting to do one for so long! I do have a few more planned out that I will be posting sometime soon and I have SO many things to review so keep on the lookout for that!

Weekly Beauty Tip #25: Lemon juice

Many people don't know that lemon can be a great beauty aid. You can use it to:

-Add highlights to your hair

-Diminish/get rid of acne scars

-Getting rid of dandruff (if using this method always dilute and use in a recipe, which can be found online)

-Use in a homemade toner recipe
